Design Inspiration
Claudio Bellini was born in Milan and trained as an architect. The design studio ( Claudio Bellini Studio ) he founded is now one of Italy’s most influential, working across architecture, interior design, and product design. He sees design as an adventure of ideas and approaches it with an open, exploratory mindset. That attitude is clearly reflected in Lamma. Bellini defined the chair through three ideas: minimal, basic, and comfortable. These ideas also align closely with GRADO’s design philosophy, which is why the collaboration developed so naturally. Bellini wanted Lamma to work as a fundamental unit — something that could fit naturally into different settings, rather than being made for only one specific scenario. Flexible, yet still true to its own form.

Architectural Perspective Design
Lamma features a crisp, structured silhouette with an architectural character of its own. It does not rely on excessive decoration; once placed in a space, it helps set the tone of the overall environment. Its ergonomic design makes every sit feel natural and comfortable. Whether for a short wait or a longer stay, it remains inviting and easy to settle into.
Available in a range of upholstery options — including solid colors, leather, and printed fabrics — Lamma can shift from understated and composed to bright and expressive. The same chair can take on a completely different character simply by changing the color or finish, giving each space its own distinct expression.

From hotel lobbies, airport VIP lounges, and library reading areas to fashion retail stores, premium hotel suites, and residential living rooms, Lamma finds its place across a wide range of settings. It is not limited by scene or style. It works naturally wherever it is used.
