“CYBER” LOUNGE CHAIR

The Hammerhead Shark Chair, set to launch to raise awareness about the endangered status of hammerhead sharks, which have experienced population declines of up to 80% due to commercial fishing practices and bycatch.  Their unique hammer-shaped head makes them particularly vulnerable in gillnets, contributing to their exploitation for fins and flesh, especially in regions like Australia.  Conservation efforts have been proposed, including upcoming protections from the Queensland Government in 2024, but until then, these sharks remain at risk.  Moreover, the global demand for shark fins has led to the annual harvest of millions of hammerhead sharks, prompting organizations like WWF to advocate for reduced consumption and mitigate the threats to their survival.

The bentwood seatback takes the shape of the hammerhead shark, helping gain recognition in various settings.
