GRADO ONCOMING: DESIGN SHANGHAI JUNE 2024, 40 SQM Booth Tour

GRADO at Design Shanghai 2024 focuses on the theme "BOUNDARYLESS" weaving together all exhibition highlights.

GRADOCONTRACT at Design Shanghai 2024 is dedicated to exploring the core creativity of each furniture piece through meticulously curated exhibitions under the theme of "Boundaryless".  The exhibits, created in collaboration with designers, defy the constraints of traditional home design, harmoniously merging aesthetics with life, space, and functionality.  This representation not only signifies the highest form of aesthetic pursuit but also underscores the brand's strong commitment to its social responsibilities. The focal point of the exhibition is around the theme "REACH BOUNDARYLESS", featuring highlights like the introduction of the LOCUS CHAIR in the new product collection commissioned by Design Shanghai, the layout of the new launch collection in Hall 1, and the prominent glass display at the entrance of the booth. Among the key features showcased in the booth arrangements are items such as the BENTO SOFA, LOCUS LOUNGE CHAIR, PEBBLE COFFEE TABLE, VENERDI LOUNGE CHAIR, and WALKER SCREEN in the Leisure & Casual Social Area.  Additionally, the Private Talk Area boasts the FLY LOUNGE CHAIR and RAY COFFEE TABLE, separated by the GRID CABINET;  while the decor includes the elegant KOI SCREEN. The spot lighting system is meticulously designed, comprising 6 pieces of 2-meter tracks for spotlights, with 2 extra as backup, totaling 24 spotlights and 8 backups, all positioned as centered spotlights.  Other elements featured in the exhibition space are a wall-mounted TV (95-inch and 85-inch), a glass display area with a 10mm thick protective cover, wooden flooring, emulsion paint for the exterior, and an aluminum truss frame supporting the top structure.

KEY ROLE1:LOCUS CHAIR BY YINGJIE DESIGN

Graceful Form:

Influenced by Scandinavian and Bauhaus design, the Locus Chair takes a functionalist perspective, organically combining materials and structure, with distinct separation between lines and volumes that reinforce each other, creating a light and delicate form.

Integrated Stainless Steel Base:

The precision metalworking and high-quality mirror finishing process accentuate the value and sophistication of the chair’s stainless steel base, while the integrated and highly challenging manufacturing process ensures the overall stability of the Locus Chair.

Flexible Pairing:

The combination of lightweight and delicate framework with geometrically-shaped upholstery allows the Locus Chair to complement a variety of product styles, making it suitable for diverse spaces.

The naming inspiration for the Locus Chair comes from the English word "locus," which conveys the meaning of "location." In the design, this word is endowed with deeper interpretations, signifying "the place where things begin to appear" and "the central point toward which behavioral activities are oriented." As a "thing" focused by human will, this chair not only reveals human existence but also emphasizes the close connection between people, furniture, and the space itself. In its design, the Locus Chair follows a structural approach, seeking innovative breakthroughs within construction details. Its form breaks through and closely adheres to structural logic, aiming not only for visual novelty but also to convey mechanical structure clarity through its form.
